Hello... [9] — Description

Finding inspiration for a ten image series seemed a daunting task when the final assignment for my Advanced Digital Imaging course was given, but the lucky discovery of an old roll-dial telephone while cleaning out the attic sparked a connection; lyrics from an Evanescence song instantly sprung to mind: Hello… I’m still here, all that’s left of yesterday. With the tone of the lyrics necessitating a vintage approach, I aimed to visually represent in the selection of my still-life's a sense of loss and mourning, but above all feelings of nostalgia – as in a lingering recollection of things long since past.
